Feature

Featured Riders: Al Garcia

Al Garcia represents everything that is good about club racing. Garcia took his West Coast GP Cycles-prepped, Pirelli-shod SV650 out to Willow Springs in January, and while everyone else was using the weather to make excuses for their lap times, Garcia threw down his personal best lap ever, with some amazing passes on other riders during the Formula Twins Lighweight contest. Garcia loaned a fellow rider another bike, and when it came back broken, Garcia had no hard feelings about it. And even though Garcia was taken out by another crashing rider, his bike and body are being repaired, and he will be on the grid in February.

January 2010

It was a grim weekend, weather-wise, for the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club in January, but the West Coast GP Cycles crew braved the elements and brought home the hardware. Stephen Ludwig kept his shop-prepped, Pirelli-shod SV650 upright and brought home the trophy for third in the club’s new 650 Twins GP class. Andrew Artola took his Honda RS125 to the win in the 125GP class, and Michael Gougis continued his win streak in Battle of the Twins Lighweight, taking his shop-developed, Dunlop-shod SV500 to his 12th straight victory in the class.
