Gary Schechner joined the ranks of racers this month, jumping on his West Coast GP-Cycles-prepared Suzuki SV650 and battling it out with the Supersport 600s in Middleweight Novice at Willow Springs. Schechner finished 14th, ahead of faster bikes, and was the 12th-fastest rider in the race. Schechner is looking forward to joining the fun in the Lightweight Twins races at Willow Springs.

November 16, 2008 WSMC

In November, West Coast GP Cycles wrapped up a year of racetrack domination. At Willow Springs, co-owner Andy Palmer took his Pirelli-shod, CT Racing/Track Daz-backed SV650 to three wins, the Formula Twins Lightweight championship and an amazing third overall in the club championship. Brant Wiwi took his shop-developed Yamaha YZF-R1 to second in Formula 1. And Palmer took the shop-developed SV500 to a win and a lap record in Lightweight Twins. In WERA West competition earlier in the month, Michael Gougis¢ win and a second nailed down third in the Clubman and second in D Superbike championships.
